Joshua "Josh" Layton. In the womb, I knew you would be the biggest ball of energy I couldnt wait to put my hands on. I'd try to sleep and you'd be ready to go, moving about all hours of the night. Then in the wee morning hours of December 1st 2001, I told your daddy (Andy), it was time to go. We got to the hospital and you was ready. It was a very quick process and you were born at 11:12 am at 6 lbs 2 oz and 19 inches long, that morning with the most love I've ever seen cause everyone was so excited to finally meet you, but most of all your daddy and I. You were the most beautiful baby in the whole world and we all loved you so much we couldn't even put a number on it. It was to infinity and beyond. Your papaw (Alfred York Jr) couldn't keep his hands off of you, first grandbaby and you were a boy. Something he had longed for so long. You slept in between your daddy and I on a pillow every night and was the best baby, you liked your sleep as much as we did. You had all your firsts, crawling, taking your first steps and eventually running, your curly headed haircut and lots of Dr visits but you were the best baby through all of it and loved attention and loved love.
Growing up, we had so many ups and downs and went through heartache together as a family, but it didn't stop our love for you and to this day it hasn't stopped our love for you. You were always afraid to try new things but if you set your mind to it, then you'd do it. You loved with all of your heart and were the most handsome man I've ever seen. Their wasn't anything in this world that I wouldn't have done for you, including taking your place in this horror so that you could have the opportunity to live your life to the fullest and make a difference in this world, cause if anyone could have done it, it would be you!!!
We took our first family vacation in March to Gatlinburg of this year and I've never seen you so happy, it was your happy place and we were together without a care in the world. I'll cherish those memories forever.
I would always kiss you goodnight and make sure you always knew that I LOVED YOU every night before bed to just get up the next morning and do it all over again while trying to get you up for work. You loved your sleep, and cranky in the mornings, but who's not. But you'd always get up and go.
I can't put into words how much I miss you every second of every day. I can't put into words how much I love you still cause unfortunately your not here so that I can express that but I know you knew and I know you know still how much you mean to me. You were my first born and the greatest and most love for a person that I'll ever have. You are my baby and I wish more than anything you were still here. I could write a book on all of our adventures and heartaches and well, just life but I just wanted to write this about you and how much you mean to me and so many others for the 20 short years you were with us. I hope to see you again and I hope you are catching up with missed time with you and your papaw, who passed when you were only 7. I hope to see you and be with you in eternity very soon. I love you Joshua Layton Adcock and my love for you will never stop and I will continue to visit you everyday until we can be reunited.

wish I didn't have to lose you, bro. I really did love ya as a big brother bro, we didn't show that but I miss you, bro, it doesn't feel right being the last son left in the family, I'll never forget riding on the back of a four-wheeler with you flying through the neighborhood. You were my inspiration bro, someone I looked up to as a big brother. I really do miss you bro... only 18 years I knew you Josh but you were still a great big brother even though we got mad at each other sometimes, I really did appreciate all the stuff you did for me, bro. Hope to see you in Heaven someday. ❤️
Long live Josh
