Louise Taylor

July 15, 1935  -  May 11, 2023

Sis. Louise Taylor, a resident of Winchester for forty-eight years, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at St. Francis Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia. She was born in Slocomb, Alabama on July 15, 1935, to the late John and Ruby Chesser. Louise was raised in Georgia, one of fifteen children, and often babysat her siblings and helped keep house. At an early age, she began working, her first being at M.C. Crory’s 5 and 10 in Columbus. She married the love of her life, Marvin Taylor, when she was seventeen years old. Louise was not only a pastor’s wife, but she also worked as a clerk at Hammer’s Department Store and at the Corner House in Cowan. She was a faithful member of Christian Tabernacle, Wing’s of Hope (served as historian), and Widow’s Might (served as prayer chairman). She also taught Sunday School for years, founding the “Overcomers” and “Conquerors” classes. Louise cherished her beloved family and had a good life, always putting the Lord first and living by her motto: “Jesus never fails.” In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Marvin Taylor; brothers, Charles Chesser, Venice Chesser, and Ray Chesser; sisters, Kay Sabens and Sheila Chesser; and special daughter, Gail Sanders. Louise is survived by her loving children, Pastor Ricky (Regina) Taylor, and Nancy Taylor; grandchildren, Andrea (John) Watson, Amanda (Dewayne) Richardson, Reshae (Jeremy) Frame, Kayleen Steele, Martha Wenger, and Tabitha Wade; great-grandchildren, Ethan Watson, Evan Watson, Deanna Lightner, Joshua Lightner, Kaison Brimhall, Andrew Richardson, Daisy Richardson, Maddux Richardson, Jeremiah Frame, Brandon Wenger, Isaiah Wenger, Ella Wenger, Jacob Wade, and Jimmy Wade; special daughter, Vanessa Steele; and siblings, Clayton (Sissy) Chesser, Neal Chesser, Debra Chesser, Windell (Cheryl) Chesser, Johnny (Judy) Chesser, Dale Chesser, and Susan (John) Daley. Visitation will be from 10am-2pm on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 First Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398, (931)-967-2222, www.moorecortner.com.
