David A. Schmitt

David Arlen Schmitt, age 81 of Belvidere, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Atchison, Kansas on May 12, 1942. David served his country in the United States Army Reserve before becoming an accountant. Along with his accounting work, he also enjoyed working with computers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Schmitt; and three brothers. David is survived by his loving wife of twenty-one years, Carolyn Schmitt; children, James, Kristen, Steven, and Richard; brother, Tom Schmitt; and several grandchildren. Visitation will be from 12-1pm on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel.
